What Can A Village Council Do For You?

It Depends On Who You Are

If you have never been a Village Council member that is the most obvious question.  If you are already a Council member your question would be…

“What could the National Association of Village and Community Councils do for me?

“Nothing”, if you have no dreams for yourself, your family and your community or your country.  But we know that does not describe you because you are here.

Be honest, that was the question on your mind.  If it wasn’t collectively we apologize for using the same big brush that we use to paint the population.

Imagine this, you live in a community in Trinidad and Tobago and experience irregular or no water supply, no garbage disposal, and bad roads.  You can pick up the phone and call for help but as an individual your voice is weak, tiny almost inaudible.

Usually, they are “looking into it”.

Do you know why?

It is because your problem is not really an issue until it affects a large number of people.  When you have a community voice, a community organization, people in authority listen.

TTAVCC ia a people focused organization committed to providing the people with a space, a place, an outlet  to express themselves.

Here you can let your voice be heard or just read what others in the country are feeling, doing and sharing.  We are opening this blog to anyone who has something to say that is relevant to community development. We are accepting your articles, videos and comments related to the development of culture, art or social development of the people of Trinidad and Tobago.

Get exposure for your cause, your event or activity.  Contribute articles, videos or suggestions and comment.

Our immediate focus is raising the health awareness of the population given the high incidence of NCDs in Trinidad and Tobago.  We can use your help with that.

What you have to say may be important to many; say it here.

Talk nah.
